Hellenic Medical Society Sponsors Community Health Symposium at Hermes Expo, March 31, 2012.

In conjunction with the Hermes Expo International, Hellenic Medical Society sponsored the Third Annual Hippocrates Seminars: Community Health Symposium.

Medical Experts from within the HMS and the Region discussed various public health issues such as Stroke, Medical Interactions, Plastic Surgery, Cardiology and Vitamin D Metabolism.  Following each presentation, a question and answer session occurred and various questions were directed to the medical experts.

Speakers include Dr Mike Moussouttas of Jefferson University Hospital, Alexia Tsikouras, PharmD,  Dr Chris Tzarnas of Temple University Hospital, Dr Elias Iliadis of Cooper University Hospital and Dr Ellie Kelepouris of Drexel University College of Medicine

Additionally, the Board of Directors has selected Dr Ellie Kelepouris, Chief of Nephrology at Hahneman University Hospital as the 2012 Distinguished Physician and award presented at Hermes Gala Dinner.

HMS Philadelphia Participated in 2012 Greek Independence Day Parade, March 18th

The Hellenic Medical Society of Philadelphia, a member of the Federation of Hellenic American Societies of Philadelphia and Greater Delaware Valley, is proud to participate in the 2012 Greek Independence Day parade in Philadelphia on Sunday March 18th.  Friends and members of the Society and all Hellenes are encouraged to march with us and  celebrate 191 years of Greek Independence.

HMS Philadelphia congratulates this year’s Grand Marshall and HMS Philadelphia member Dr. Spiros Spireas in recognition of his dedication to Hellenism and Education.


Hellenic Medical Society sponsors Prostate Health lecture by Dr Costas Lallas at Cretan House, Highland Park, NJ on February 21, 2012

Sponsored by the Cretan House and Hellenic Medical Society of Philadelphia, Urologist Dr Costas Lallas discussed prostate health to nearly 50 members.  Many excellent questions were answered and many thanks to Costas for his time and efforts.  Looking forward to further events promoting good health in our community.
