- Who are you and what do you do professionally?
I am originally from Rumson, New Jersey. I earned a B.A from Franklin and Marshall College where I majored in Ancient History and Classical Archaeology , studied Pre-Healing Arts, and minored in Ancient Greek. I graduated from the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine. I completed my residency in Internal Medicine at Lehigh Valley Health Network and my Rheumatology Fellowship at Geisinger Health System. I am board certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine and Subspecialty of Rheumatology. In addition, I am a Certified Clinical Densitometrist.
- What is your career?
I am a private practice rheumatologist at the Pennsylvania Orthopaedic Center, a subdivision of Premier Orthopaedics. I am a consultant rheumatologist at Paoli Hospital, Main Line Health. My research has been published in Arthritis Care and Research, The Journal of Rheumatology, Journal of Clinical Rheumatology, and Case Reports in Infectious Disease.
- What is your connection to Greece?
My mother was born on the island of Lesvos. She met my father when she was studying law at the University of Athens while he was visiting family in Greece. He was born in the United States of America but his parents were also from Lesvos. I have many relatives in Greece and love visiting them in the summer.
- Why are you an HMS member?
I wanted to be a part of my Greek community and was attracted by the goals and mission of HMS. I am very proud of my Greek Heritage and believe it is important to support scholarship, philanthropic missions and I enjoy the networking/fellowship of the Society.
- What do you do outside of your profession?
I enjoy spending my free time with family and friends. I love travelling to both Greece and other countries. As a classics major, I love history and enjoy visiting museums. I am certified in scuba diving.
